Lead content by analysis of lead ores and concentrates plus the lead content of other ores and concentrates known to be intended for lead recovery.
Total production by smelters and refineries of refined pig lead, including the lead content of antimonial lead and other fully refined lead alloys, regardless of the type of source material, i.e. whether ores, concentrates, lead bullion, mattes, residues, slag or scrap. Production on toll carried out in the reporting country should be included. Remelted lead and lead alloys recovered from secondary materials without undergoing a full refining process should be excluded.
Production of refined lead and refined lead alloys from concentrates, bullion and other primary materials (mine tailings and slags, residues, drosses, etc. from primary smelting and refining).
Production of refined lead and refined lead alloys from scrap materials (lead acid batteries, lead sheet, strip, pipes, cable sheathing, etc.) together with residues, drosses, wastes, etc. from fabricating/processing operations. Remelted lead and lead alloys recovered from secondary materials without undergoing a full refining process should be excluded.
Usage of the types of metal reported under Total Metal Production.
Zinc content by analysis of zinc ores and concentrates plus the zinc content of other ores and concentrates known to be intended for treatment for zinc recovery.
Production of refined zinc by smelters and refineries in marketable form or used directly by the producer for alloying, regardless of the type of source material, i.e. whether ores, concentrates, residues, slag or scrap. Production on toll carried out in the reporting country should be included. Remelted zinc metal and zinc dust should be excluded.
Production of refined zinc in marketable form, or used directly by the producer for alloying, from concentrates and other primary materials (mine tailings and slags, residues, drosses, etc. from primary smelting and refining). Zinc dust should be excluded.
Production of refined zinc in marketable form, or used directly by the producer for alloying, from scrap materials (sheet, strip, plates, die-castings, etc.) and from residues, drosses, wastes, etc. from fabricating/processing operations, together with zinc in pellets or other forms recovered from steel plant flue dusts. Remelted zinc metal and zinc alloys and zinc dust should be excluded.
Usage of the types of metal reported under metal production (5a).
National customs authorities use the Harmonised System of Trade Codes in reporting quantities and values of good traded between countries.
Harmonised System Trade Codes used by the International Lead and Zinc Study Group in its publications are as follows:
Further information on Trade Tariffs is available in the ILZSG publication ‘Lead and Zinc: National Trade Tariffs and Measures’. For details please refer to the publications section of this website.
